Obituary for Danny McFadden

Danny Sean McFadden, 63, went home to be with his heavenly Father on May 13, 2022, at Medical City Fort Worth. By his side was Jana, his wife and best friend of 40 years.

Danny was born in Enid, Oklahoma on October 30th, 1958, to Richard and Lillian McFadden. As the son of an air force pilot, Danny’s childhood was one of travel and adventure. He spent his first and second grade years on Ramstein, AFB in Germany and attended grades 6 through 9 at Yokota, AFB in Japan. Danny’s love for guitars and golf began at an early age. He started his first band in 7th grade and earned his first athletic letter in golf at Johnson Jr. High School in 9th grade. After moving back to the USA, he continued to play golf throughout his academic years for Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he graduated in 1976 and New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. Danny graduated from New Mexico State University in 1984 with a Bachelor in Science, Civil Engineering Degree. While attending NMSU, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity where he made many lifelong ‘brothers’ and friends.

After graduating from NMSU, Danny returned to Hobbs, New Mexico where he began his career at John West Engineering. In 1989, Danny moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked on master planned communities such as Aliante Infrastructure and Anthem Country Club. His career in Las Vegas also included Industrial and Commercial projects with the Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion being one of his outstanding accomplishments. One of the highlights to his career was being honored to become an Executive Vice President of GC Wallace Companies, Inc. of Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2013, Danny relocated to the DFW area when a longtime friend who had also started his engineering career at John West Engineering ask him to come and help open a Fort Worth office for Pape Dawson Engineering. Due to health issues, Danny retired from engineering in 2020.

While attending New Mexico Junior College, Danny met his life long best friend and wife of 40 years, Jana (Parks). Jana and Danny married on May 15, 1982, at First Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico. The couple spent many hours playing golf and traveling. In 1996, they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Sydney. Although Danny battled cancer for many years, he was able to walk his daughter down the isle in marriage to Garrett Stewart in October 2020 and witness the birth of his grandson, Gensen Wayne Stewart a year later in October of 2021.
Family and friends remember Danny as an avid golfer, loyal friend, devoted husband and father. When with friends and family, Danny always had a guitar in his hand and loved to entertain with music. To quote one of his nephews, “Danny was a kind, funny guy with a big heart who knew how to make people feel good—a rare gift”. He always had a joke to tell and when he laughed, his shoulders would shake. Danny was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Willow Park and was a devoted follower of Jesus. We mourn his departure from our lives but rejoice in his passing to a glorious eternal life with Jesus Christ.
