Debra “Debbie” Smith, of Fort Worth, Texas, went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Born on August 23, 1955, she was lovingly chosen to be the daughter of Raymond and Bobbie Nicholas. Debbie was the cherished wife of Wade Smith, married nearly 43 years. She is survived by Wade and their daughters, Kristen and Megan, and sons-in-law, Matthew and Rich, along with five grandchildren Georgia, Adeline, Olivia, Griffin and Shepherd, whom she adored.
Debbie’s younger years included fun times with neighbors and her best friend Melissa. She was a Raiderette at LD Bell High School, and attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. In young adulthood, she was a speech therapist in the public schools. She married Wade on February 15, 1980 and he was her constant source of humor. Debbie lived a quiet life caring for her family, volunteering in schools and churches, and serving behind the scenes. She had great compassion for widows, orphans, and children and loved seeing children come to know Christ.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Birchman Avenue, Fort Worth TX, 76107 (park on the corner of Pershing and Owasso).
