Obituary for Eugene Mark Porter
Eugene Mark Porter, 73 years of age, passed on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in the comfort of his home and in the compassion of family. Affectionately known as “Pops” and often referred to as ‘Mark’ or ‘Porter’; no matter the title, he was always truly loved and highly respected as an Honorable Spiritually Strong Upstanding Righteous Man. He was passionate about his relationship with God and every day he read Biblical scripture and meditated on the word.
Born on February 3rd, 1949 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Homer E. Porter Sr. and Georgiana Louise Porter, he was the third of five children. His beloved siblings are sister Lana Wilborn, brother Homer Porter, Jr., sister Karen Eden, and brother Adam Porter. A Proud American and Vietnam Veteran, he honorably served his country during his tour in the U.S. Navy.
Cars, Computers, Cooking, and The Cosmos were four of his greatest passions in life. He loved American made automobiles and worked for over 40 years as a Top ASE Certified Auto Engineer. He lead his family into the age of computer technology with a passion so deep while others were out buying video games he was at home using machine-language to program his own video games. He loved Star Wars . His greatest passion was cooking for his family, from grand holiday meals to some of the best outdoor barbecuing he always displayed the utmost love thru his cooking.
He is preceded by his late wife Sillar J. Agnew and his late wife Dolores Helen Porter. Where some live their whole lives to never find love once, God saw fit to bless him with the experience of true love twice. As a righteous man, he fulfilled his oath before God and remained steadfast through sickness and health.
His legacy will be forever cherished and honered through his children: Corbin Agnew, Sr., Kellideon Agnew, Sr., and Makeesha Agnew; His 9 Grandchildren – Tiara, Olivia, Toishana, Tianah, Dominque, Mariah, Corbin, Jr.(CJ), Charisma, and Kellideon, Jr.(KJ); His 3 Great Grandchildren – Brendan (BJ), Alontae’, and Alonden; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
