Obituary for JACQUELINE ANN VALENCIANO

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Valenciano-Melanson, aged 61, passed away peacefully on February 8th at John Peter Smith Hospital. Jackie was born April 19th, 1962 in Fort Worth to Pauline Gasca and Joseph Valenciano. She attended Nolan Catholic High School before she went on to become the first Mexican-American Congressional Page in Washington D.C. under Speaker of the House Jim Wright. She later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. She dedicated over twenty years in medical claims and found her home at JPS Health Network. She dedicated even more of that time sharing her love and kindness with those around her, and amassed many “adopted” sons and daughters along the way.



Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Nicolasa Melanson-Dees. She is survived by her children Joseph and Stephanie with ex-husband Alan Melanson; sisters Jodi Gonzales (Daniel), Susie Carranza (Joel), and Diane Rodriguez (Jose); granddaughter Gabriella, and numerous nieces and nephews.
