Obituary for James Howard "Jimmy" Lasater

James H. (Jimmy) Lasater, age 74, passed away on February 15, 2022 and was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Texas at the age of 3.

Jimmy was a 1965 graduate of Paschal High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp. He went on to study at North Texas University in Denton majoring in criminal justice.

Following his desire to serve, he joined the Fort Worth Police Department where he served as a police officer for 29 years. He didn’t stay retired long, going to work at the Parker County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years where he served as Chief Deputy. He was then assigned to the DEA as a task force officer, and retired in August 2017.

He is predeceased by his father, James Lasater, his mother and step-father Irene and Tony Vega, and his brother Bill Lasater who was an Arlington Police Officer.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of 28 years; three daughters; Melynda Harty (Jason Osborne), Amie Garcia (Dwayne), and Kim Bone (Kevin); 7 grandchildren, Austin Harty, Aubrey Harty (John Moran), Miranda LeMoine, Cameron Williams, Mycah Rosas (Manny), Megan Bone (Dylan Glover), and Hayden Bone; and 2 great grandchildren Aislee and Hezekiah.

Jimmy was a true loyal friend and was there for whomever needed him. He had a quick wit and dry sense of humor which will be deeply missed.

More importantly, he loved his daughters and was so very proud of each of them. He loved being a Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His eyes lit up every time they came over to visit.
