Obituary for Mark Leighton DeMent
ARLINGTON - Mark Leighton DeMent, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, Texas on February 17, 2020.
He was born on December 19, 1954 in Glendale, California to Donna and Leighton DeMent. He was a proud graduate from the University of Southern California and he served in the United States Army as a Corporal from June 1979 until June 1981. He married his wife, Sandra, in May 1979 and they loved each other so much that they got married again in 2003.
He loved to travel and his favorite destinations always included a beach and palm trees.
Mark is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Whitney; grandchildren, Dana, Ethan, and Rylie; sister, Sherry Ryan; niece, Katie; nephew, Ronald; sister-in-law, Lucy Allison; and nephew, Jeff.
Graveside services will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on March 11, 2020 at 1:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his son, Eric DeMent, to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to benefit the research for Parkinson's Disease.
