Nydia Esperanza Lopez-Caban “Maminy” a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was born in the quaint mountain town of Lares, Puerto Rico and raised in San Juan. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 1, 2019.

Nydia was survived by her four children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. She was the epitome of motherhood, a fountain of love and devotion for her family and friends. Nydia adored the holidays and family gatherings; any chance to spend with family was important to her. She would lovingly spend hours cooking and preparing for her company.

Nydia was known for her good sense of humor, love of music, passion for the kitchen and her love of God. She left an indelible print in our lives, her legacy lives on in each and everyone of her family members and her presence will be greatly missed.

Nydia was the beloved wife of the late Angel Manuel Cruz.
