Obituary for Rachel Salinas

Rachel Farias Salinas of Fort Worth, went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 6, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Rachel was born December 28, 1951 in Muleshoe, Texas to Juan and Elisa Flores Farias. She often told stories of growing up there and the family store. After High School in Mathis, Texas, she attended Beauty School. She married Ernesto Galvan Salinas in 1970, when he returned from Vietnam and they have been married for 49 years. They relocated to Fort Worth where she started her career as a hairdresser at Carmen’s Beauty Salon, where she worked for over 40 years. One of her greatest accomplishments were her 2 sons; Michael and Roman. That started her greatest past time, her family. Anyone who knew her could tell you how proud she was of her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She was known as “Mimi” to everyone that knew her. She taught CCD at Immaculate Heart of Mary, when her kids were young and was very involved in South Fort Worth events and functions. Rachel was our beloved Mother, Sister, Mimi, Aunt and dear friend and will be greatly missed.
