Obituary for Richard D. Barnes

BURLESON - Richard D. Barnes, 66, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas led by Pastor Cooper.

Richard was born on Oct. 19, 1953 and raised in Burleson, Texas. He was a proud graduate of Burleson High School and an upstanding member of his community. Earl & Helen Barnes, Richard's parents, were members of Boulevard Baptist Church since June 2000, and Richard had attended services at Boulevard for 15 years.
A devoted husband and family man, Richard Barnes was loved by all. He became known to others as the one who could fix anything.

On March 9, 2019, Richard and Bettye celebrated their 46 year anniversary in their home with renewal of vows conducted by Pastor Paul Cooper of Boulevard Baptist Church.
Richard was an accomplished truck driver with 45 years of experience.
Always helpful and caring, Richard went out of his way to attend to the needs of others in his life, showing the love of Christ around him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Barnes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Bettye Barnes; daughter, Tina Ceaser and husband, Gerry; stepdaughters, Lori Cook and husband, Mack, and Vikki Raincrow and husband, Eddie; sisters, Vickie Smith, Judy Cagle and Connie Linch; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
