Obituary for Victor Joe McCurdy

Victor Joe McCurdy, 79, of Burleson, TX, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, with his family by his side.


Joe was born March 3, 1943, in Whitewright, TX to Mary Westbrook. He spent most of his childhood in Sherman, TX. He was a proud American and Army Veteran, where he served his country and was in the 11th Airborne Division. After the Army, he moved to Fort Worth, TX, where he started McCurdy Construction. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Westbrook, his brother, Billy J. McCurdy, and his granddaughter, Ashley L. McCurdy.

His children will forever cherish his memory: Tammy Tuggle, Deanna McCurdy, and spouse: Gina Garber, Linda McCurdy, Lynette Quirion, and spouse: Mark Quirion, Nathan McCurdy, Maddie McCurdy, Lilli McCurdy & Dustin McCurdy, brother: Raymond McCurdy, sister: Cheryl Hickerson and spouse: Larry Hickerson, sister: Charlotte Collinsworth and spouse: Jamey Collinsworth, grandchildren: Allie Robinson, Kevin Mccurdy, Eric McCurdy, Aaron Scofield, Matthew Quirion, Mollie Taft, Tessa Taft, and Leah McCurdy, great granddaughter: Ashley M. McCurdy and a host of nieces & nephews.
